Linton’s weekly walks have become more and more popular over the years and the number of walks has steadily grown. For 2017 we have almost 80 weekly walks, in two sets:

– a walk on Thursday mornings, starting at 11am (prompt!). The first walk in 2017 is on February 2nd, and the last one is on November 30th.

– a walk on Tuesday evenings, starting at 5 – 7pm depending on daylight. The first walk in 2017 is on March 7th and the last one is on October 17th

The walks are easy to manage, are between 2 and 4 miles or in length, and they seem to start and finish at a pub surprisingly often… they are designed for anyone, fitness should not be a problem and it is a walk, not a march. They are not only an opportunity to take some healthy exercise, they are also a social event with up to 40 people or more taking part in summer. They take in all the countryside in and around Linton, private land as well as public footpaths, and they will show you just how beautiful the countryside we live in is, as well as showing you places that cannot be reached or appreciated any other way. Do come! You will be made very welcome.

Either email Jerry Whitmarsh, or email Peter McGillivray or contact him on 01622 741475, or just come along to any walk. More details, and a schedule of all of the walks, can be accessed here. In addition there is a map showing the starting point for all of the walks, available here.

Dogs – we love dogs, and they are very welcome. They must be kept on leads around livestock and on all public roads… supervised children are also welcome.
